Turning a long spindle on NOVA-DVR-XP lathe

I accidentaly discovered the joys of working with wood in 2003 as I made picture frames to hang odd-sized pictures. Next I went on to make some furniture, one of which was a three legged table with carved legs. The desire to carve out shapes from lumps of wood eventually took me to woodturning and the rest is history.

I am now a member of the local Sunderland Wood Turning Club as well as the national Association of Woodturners of Great Britain (AWGB). The above picture shows me working on my new pride and joy, a NOVA-DVR-XP lathe giving me 2HP motor power with electronic speed control.
